Anthony Williamson a.k.a. Chukki Starr was born in Harlesden, London. He began his career in the music business as a DJ on Echo Tone Hi Fi. His first step in a studio was for the UK Volcano Sound System for whom he recorded ‘Goodas Gal’.

Sticking with his West London roots he hooked up with the world famous Ruff Cut Band and in 1994 released a string of hits including  ‘Almighty Father’, a combination with Don Campbell, ‘Reggae Music So Sweet’  and ‘Evilous System’ for Gussie P.

In 1995 he featured on the re-release of Aswad’s remix of there mega classic ‘Warrior Charge’.

The following year he flew down to Jamaica where he hooked up with some of Jamaica’s top producers notably the legendary Bobby ‘Digital’ Dixon who recognized his talent straight away after there first meeting and recorded him on various riddims he was working on at the time notably on a combination with Edi Fitzroy, which led to sessions with African Star and Black Scorpio.

By 1997 Chukki Starr was one of the UK’s top DJs following the success of his self produced monster hit ‘Forever I Shall Praise’.

His debut and highly acclaimed album ‘Ghetto Youths Livity ‘ was released and produced by Mad Professor on his Ariwa label.

His first collaboration with Frenchie for Maximum Sound was in 2004 on the Blue Steel Riddim for ‘Worry Fi Them’ followed in 2005 by  ‘Hard fi Smile’ on the World Jam Riddim.
